Greetings 1TRIBE! George here, and today I want to take you on a journey that transcends mere technological extensions to explore profound connections capable of transforming our societies.

On September 1, 2023, something transformative occurred at the University of Cape Verde—an event organised by The International Organisation for Migration (IOM). We were honored to be a part of this initiative, contributing to conversations that touched on some of the most critical issues of our time.

I was surrounded by unparalleled collective wisdom. The caliber of our panelists was nothing short of amazing—each a luminary in their respective fields, yet united by the common aim of advancing the African continent.

Consider Engineer Jorge Santos, the Minister of Communities of Cabo Verde. His lifelong dedication to public service provides him with a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities of fostering unity among diverse communities.

Then there's Emily Gardner, a Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank Group, whose nuanced approach to educational reform is paving the way for developing nations to unleash their fullest potential.

Killian Clifford of IOM added another layer of expertise, exploring the intersection of migration and economic development. His comprehensive understanding of global policies offered an in-depth view of how diaspora communities can serve as catalysts for change.

Maria Gallo, a Visiting Research Fellow at the prestigious Trinity Business School, offered invaluable perspectives on human capital and international development. Her research elevates our discourse from theoretical musings to actionable strategies.

Rounding off this stellar group was Ph.D. Ângela Coutinho, who bridged academic rigor with actionable policy through her work at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations. As a member of the Cabo Verdean diaspora and an international relations researcher, her unique perspective added invaluable depth to our discussions.

More than the intellectual exchange, what struck me was the urgency for skilled diaspora communities to invest emotionally and intellectually in their home countries. We understand both global mechanisms and local intricacies, making us the custodians of our art, culture, and history. The importance of passing on our collective wisdom and heritage to the next generation is a task we cannot afford to ignore. Furthermore, the critical role of open borders within African states extends beyond the free movement of people; it's about the free exchange of ideas.

The conversation also illuminated the revolutionary potential of blockchain technology. At 1TRIBE, we are active participants in this transformational shift. Our alignment with the Polkadot ecosystem and the WEB3 Foundation allows us to integrate technology with cultural objectives seamlessly. This isn't just a tagline—it's a solemn commitment to equip the next generation of Africans for unprecedented achievements.

This event was a transformative experience that goes beyond mere words. Immersed in the brilliance of the forum, my belief in 1TRIBE's mission has not only been reaffirmed but has deepened. We are not just embracing technology; we're shaping it to champion empowerment, cultural preservation, and sustainable development. With such momentum, I eagerly anticipate the next chapter for 1TRIBE, our community, and the vast African landscape we cherish.

In this intricate balance between the past, present, and future, we find our purpose. Together, let's transform this vision into our shared reality.
